Joe Biden has unquestionably earned the nickname “Creepy Joe” over the last several years as stories of his inappropriate comments and behavior towards women (and children), including sniffing their hair and very obviously invading their personal space to get closer and handsy, seem to have only gotten worse since he was sworn in as president in January 2021.

It was during his first year in office that Sage Steele, who was then an ESPN SportsCenter co-host, got the chance to interview Biden ahead of opening day in Major League Baseball. What ended up being eye-opening to Steele about her time with Biden was not so much what he said during the pre-taped, online interview but what he said prior to the official start of it.

Steele told “Real Time” host Bill Maher on his “Club Random” podcast this week that not only did Biden struggle to finish his sentences (and was unable to at times), but that as he told the story of his brief time playing football in his younger years he made a creepy comment to Steele about his hands:

Former ESPN host Sage Steele said that interviewing President Biden was “the saddest thing” because he seemed confused and “couldn’t finish his sentences.”

“So I can hear him and he goes, ‘What is this for? Wait — what’s her name?’” Steele recounted, as Maher started laughing.

“I was going, ‘Oh my God!’ And then [an aide] said, ‘SportsCenter, ESPN.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, OK.’”

At that point, the president started to tell her about his own football career. In high school, Biden was a standout halfback and wide receiver. He also briefly played football as a freshman at the University of Delaware.

“And so he started to tell football stories of his greatness,” Steele recounted, noting she still could not see him.

“He goes, ‘I have the best hands.’ What do you say to that?” Steele asked.

Maher’s response, which is not shown in the above clip, was to reference former President Bill Clinton’s notorious penchant for similar behavior.

“Well, ironically, Clinton used to say the same thing,” Maher noted. “So if it was Clinton, trust me, you wouldn’t have any trouble chit-chatting.”

Steele said the even “sadder” part of the exchange was that when she asked Biden about his football playing days he began mumbling and couldn’t finish the story.

I don’t know what’s more troubling here – that Joe Biden can’t keep his nose, hands, and inappropriate comments to himself or that he struggles to get through interviews and even tightly scripted speeches, with his every move micromanaged and handled.

Once upon a time, just one of those behaviors would be enough to keep someone from getting reelected but in this scenario, we’ve got both, coupled with an obscene amount of family corruption to boot. It’s maddening, but hopefully, in 2024 voters will send Biden home to Delaware where he can quietly retire from public life while the winner of the presidential election works to undue the calamitous damage he’s done to the country.
